As of spring 2019, two models of the popular VECTOPOWER inverter and three models of the VECTOMOTOR electric motor family will be available with a new feature: these are new plug-in connections that simplify commissioning of the components. The new connector, including the KBA Electromagnetic Compatibility Test, will initially be available for the VECTOPOWER models VP600-18W140-TR and VP600-18W268 and for the VECTOMOTOR models VM600M-28W0350, VM600M-18W0065 and VM600M-18W0073. These converters are optimized for traction applications and the associated high peak loads, e.g. must be balanced when starting.
By using the new plug-in connections, cables can be pre-assembled, which eliminates the need for wiring in the application itself and thus no need to open the device. This simplifies both the initial installation as well as a possible replacement in case of service. In addition, the pre-assembled lines also reduce the susceptibility to errors during assembly, as precoded connectors significantly complicate faulty cabling.
