Inverter

General questions about inverters

We recommend a mix of water with glycol and corrosion inhibitor. We have had good experience for example with ANTIFROGEN-N. Mixing ratio: maximum glycol content 50%, minimum not less than 20%. We recommend particle filters for particles.

Plastics are no problem. For metals, we recommend the use of stainless steel “V2A” except for aluminum. All non-ferrous metals and their alloys are not suitable.

In many cases, this can be done by you or a third party. If in doubt, ask our service team or our sales team.
Attention: Make sure that the material pairings are suitable (cable type and Amphenol, Blueglobe)

Questions about the Series2 and Series3 inverters for maritime applications

We assume that we will be able to supply the Series2 until the end of 2024.
We have planned for repairs, spare parts and even complete replacement devices for a long period after the last regular delivery. You are therefore welcome to stay with the Series2. If in doubt, please contact our sales team.

Series2 and Series3 are compatible regarding all settings and motor parameters. You can therefore transfer the settings. Series3 offers extended options for some characteristics. For example, higher continuous currents or DC voltages. Depending on the motor, previous reserves can therefore be utilized. However, the previous settings and limitations also work.

Questions about the difference between Series 3 and Series 4 inverters (EVO)

A “phase-out” for Series3 is not planned for the time being. For example, the Series3 covers functions that the Series4 cannot cover purely due to the interfaces. Series4 has been optimized for higher quantities and slightly higher performance in relation to typical applications. At the same time, the weight has been reduced and some other characteristics have been improved. Simply take a look at the models in question and let our sales team advise you.

The VECTOPOWER has no externally replaceable wearing parts. In case of failure due at the end of service life, ARADEX will either scrap the unit or possibly carry out a general overhaul with replacement of relevant components.

In the case of e-motors, the bearings are replaceable wear parts. We recommend using a specialist company or sending the motor to ARADEX for replacement. Caution: With PM and PM reluctance motors, the internal magnetic fields lead to very high forces and represent a direct hazard potential when the motor is open. In addition, the encoder or resolver must be readjusted after a bearing replacement.

Repairs are currently handled exclusively by our Lorch site. However, we are working on setting up efficient extensions worldwide. If required, please contact our service team.

In the case of a warranty repair or a previously agreed goodwill arrangement, the repair is carried out directly. In chargeable cases, an analysis is always carried out with a cost estimate. The costs of the fault analysis and the cost estimate itself will be offset against the approved repair.  The costs for analysis and cost estimate vary depending on the product. You can request these individually at service@ARADEX.com

Normally not, as standard tests, which require a certain amount of time, have to be carried out after the repair. (Burn-in after replacement of spare parts). In urgent cases, however, this may be useful and possible. However, you must always clarify this in advance with our service team service@ARADEX.com.

We can often help with this and carry out an identification based on other components in the same delivery status or based on delivery bills or invoices. Please contact our service team.

E-motors

Questions about e-motors

In addition to the desired quantities, this also depends on the motor type and the respective production location.
Please contact sales@ARADEX.com and state the motor type and your specific customization requirements for the shaft and/or flange.

The service life of the motor bearings is extremely dependent on the load during use. For the design of the bearings, we assume load profiles and boundary conditions and aim for a service life of at least 8000 hours.

If you wish to replace a defective encoder or resolver on a motor outside of the warranty period or outside of the warranty conditions, we recommend that you contact our service team. E-mail to service@ARADEX.com. If, after weighing up all the criteria, the best solution is to replace the motor on site, our service team can both procure the spare parts and provide support.

These motors are manufactured with a high degree of automation and are therefore aimed at the high-volume market. In addition to economic advantages, the motors impress with their compact design (volume and weight) and very high efficiency. A certain disadvantage is that technical adaptations to the respective application are only possible via inverter parameters etc., but mechanical or electrical modifications require a high number of units. Here, ARADEX benefits from high-volume applications from the parent company and can also offer these products for smaller quantities.

“Multi-in-One” devices

Questions about the "Multi-in-One" devices

Integrating many functions into a compact overall device reduces construction volume, weight and costs. Especially the costs of the high-voltage system. These products are designed for higher quantities and can offer huge advantages. The real disadvantage is that variations of these devices are not possible, or only possible in large quantities. ARADEX benefits here from applications in large quantities on the part of the parent company and can also offer these products for smaller quantities.
